If i have a computer network,can i exchange messages between the nodes of the network in matlab, please?

Simulated, or using TCP (or UDP), or controlling a particular networking board, or controlling a D/A board whose analog output is the ethernet signal ?

I am a beginner in matlab pogrammation I just need to know in general if it is possible that a node sends a message to another node on matlab or not?
