License problems when running MATLAB from Jenkins on Mac

I'm experimenting with running MATLAB from Jenkins, which essentially boils down to (I think) needing to run MATLAB from a system command line as root.
I have a user locked license, but from talking to the sales guys, I believe I'm allowed to set off an automated test sequence. My MacBook is set up with an activated license for my user account, so I tried the following while logged in as root:
sudo -u enewton /Applications/MATLAB_R2013b.app/bin/matlab -nosplash -nodesktop -r "build, test"
Which takes me through license activation again, but never runs my code.
Can anyone help please?
I suspect I will have a similar issue on Linux, which I would also be interested in getting to work.

Hey Erik, I am facing a similar issue now but from my Linux machine. Were you able to figure out this problem?.
Thanks in advance Damian Miralles
