Does a R2014a toolbox work with R2013b Matlab

I have a 8.1 (R2013a) Student version of Matlab and Simulink and would like to buy/install the RF Toolbox, SimRF, and Simscope. On the site I see only version R2014a available for purchase. Are these back-compatible with R2013a Simulink? Thanks!

Short answer: No. Toolboxes are only compatible for a certain release.

About purchasing toolboxes for Student Version that are not recent. I heard this is possible, but with limitations. When I am on this page, there is a link available labeled

"Add-on product availability may differ for past releases of MATLAB and Simulink for student use. Visit the License Center to find out which add-on products are available for your version of student-use software."

I suppose this will work for you if not, call your local MathWorks office. Either Sales or Customer Service, I am not sure.
