Help with edit text GUI

Hi! I created a Matlab GUI , where an 'Edit text' command is placed. It is initially empty. At a certain point, when I load a number, it is visualized in this 'Edit text' box, with a command like this

set(handles.edit3,'String',num)

where 'num' is the variable associated to the number. Then, when I press another button, I want this Edit text box to be empty again . How can I set this instruction ?

At the beginning of this button's callback, use something like this:

set(handles.edit3,'String','')

which displays an empty string
