MATLAB_R2022A on Mac immediately quits after attempting to start up

I keep trying to start up MATLAB, but as soon as I double-click the application icon in my dock and the "running" light turns on, it will immediately close and turn off again. The same occurs whenever I try to open a MATLAB file. My MATLAB was working perfectly fine yesterday, so I'm not quite sure what's going on.

I've updated my MacOS (Monterey Version 12.5), updated Java, restarted my computer, as well as deleted and reinstalled MATLAB to try to troubleshoot, all of which did not work.

If anyone else knows of anything else I could try, that would be much appreciated!

no idea if this would work but my roomate is having the same issue. Im going to suggest to him that he downloads an older version of matlab

Open System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Privacy > Full Disk Access > Add MATLAB
