compatibility issue between 2014a and 2014b

Hello, I have matlab 2014b, and have problems using an app that was sent by a colleague and is based on version 2014a. It seems that the change in the graphics system makes the app incompatible for me. is there any way to solve this problem? can I downgrade my matlab to 2014a?

when you speak of "colleague", I would expect you have a professional license (university or commercial) and thus you can install earlier versions free of charge. Let me know in case you admins need help for that.

To fix the root cause, I would suggest the app creator whould address it on 2014b and he could certainly contact Technical Support for that. But chances are that this is not actually a compatibilty issue of MATLAB, but an issue with the graphics drivers on your installation. That is why I suggestion that you install R2014a while in parallel the developer of the app takes case about testing under R2014b.

thanks, I have a personal license and will install then 2014a. did not know this is possible.

And just in case you wonder: You can keep R2014b installed and install R2014a in parallel.
