How to write the codings to automatic calculate total of files saved in a folder according to the modified date?

I am a new learner of Matlab. I have a lists of files saved in a folder with different modified date and time as everyday there will be new files being saved in the same folder, now i would like to calculate the total of files according to the modified date. How to write the codings to automatic calculate everyday according to modified date? the files are in '.spm'.

Hi,

the function you need is "dir", which returns a structure with name, date, size of the file:

>> file = dir('name_of_file.spm')

then you can access file.date and use it in your code.

Now i am having a folder to save all files generated everyday, and i want to write codings for automatic calculating the amount of files generated on a specific day and specific time range among all files in the folder,the day and time will be selected using 'pop-up menu' so does file = dir('name_of_file.spm') still work? i tried but i still don't know how to write the codings
