how to interface m file and simulink model?

when i am using sim command, i shows an error that, Error using newprojectfile (line 29) Unable to load block diagram 'new_project.mdl'

and In lin 29 k=sim('new_project.mdl') is there. is there any error in syntax

Do you have this simulink model 'new_project.mdl' in your current/active folder?

thanks for your response.. i found the problem with data import/export and also cleared that. now its running good.
