Enigma M3 Emulator GUI Does Not Appear When Enigma is Launched from Command Line

Having made MATLAB's working directory the parent directory of the files download I no longer get any errors. However when I launch Enigma from the command line via "launchEnigma" nothing happens. There is a slight pause and then I get a new command line prompt. It looks like this:

>> launchEnigma

>>

I have checked to see if the GUI opened on another desktop (I am running OS 10.11.3 on a MacBook Pro) but do not see anything. What am I doing wrong?

I posed this question. It can be deleted. Careful implementation of a previous answer solved the problem which was the subject of the question.
