To save whole workspace in a file(possibly excel)

Hi how do i save the whole workspace of matlab in a file preferably in excel file. Please help. Thanks in advance.

I have nothing elaborated yet, but I am thinking of using whos and then looping through all variables and use XLSWRITE. You certainly need to look for situation with different sizes and data types...

There are a number of different MATLAB objects that cannot be saved in Excel files, such as graphics objects.

Excel files also have limits on the number of rows and columns a variable has, but MATLAB variables often exceed those limits.
