Remove Image Titles in GUI

My GUI has multiple axes, On button press the axes have to be updated and some images have to be removed, if i use "cla" command then the image is deleted but the title remains there. how can i overcome this problem, can anyone help me. How to do the same thing with uitable, means clear the contents and make it invisible on button click?

You need to reset the axes:

cla('reset')

or better for a GUI:

cla(axes_handle,'reset')
