How to find threshold values from color histogram?

I am doing Lab based color thresholding for image segmentation. I want not to use color thresholder app in matlab.Can i find color threshold values from color histogram? If i can find, How to find threshold values from color histogram based on Lab color space? Do u have matlab code?
