Counting line particales in an image

Hi, I need a code that can count the number of lines in the photo I've attracted. I've tried many times to write my one but non of them seem to work.

  • binarize image
  • use imopen to remove thin objects (lines)
  • detect lines
  • use bwlabel to calculate the number of lines
