how to get data from an accceleration sensor via xbee dongle??

Hallo!!

I´m working on a project where i have an acceleration sensor connected to an xbee series 1. now i want to send the data from the sensor to another xbee which is on a dongle, connected to my laptop via usb. is there a way to receive the data in ***matlab to analyze it? - i´m a newbie so i have no idea...
