Aligning RGB and Depth image from Kinect (for windows) in Matlab 2013a ?

Hello I need to align the RGB image and the depth image to get a 3d image. I have done some research and found out that this has previously been done using OpenNI or libfreenect. These are however pretty old methods used to get the Xbox Kinect to work in Windows. Haven't been able to get it to work with the Windows Kinect yet - I will look more into this.

I read that Matlab 2013a should be more compatible with the kinect, so i was wondering if Matlab actually has a function to do this or if anyone has found a new way of doing it?
