"In this paper, three different Rind Down analysis methods are used to pre-process an online wide-area damping controller. A modified Linear Prediction criteria (LPC) method is proposed to handle latency delay and data dropout in the communication channels, Prony and MC-Brid methods are used to estimate the eigenvalues of the low-frequency oscillation modes, and adaptive buffer size for Prony and MC-Bride methods is proposed to decrease the necessity to the offline damping controller. Then, the transfer function of the oscillation mode is extracted from these methods, and a simple order reduction technique is applied (zero-pole cancellation) to obtain a low order transfer function for the wide-area controller."
