Sliding Mode Control (SMC) Overview
SMC is a nonlinear control method where the system dynamics are forced to “slide” along a defined surface (called the sliding surface) toward the desired operating point.
Key characteristics:
  • High robustness to parameter variations and disturbances
  • Fast dynamic response
  • Suitable for power converters with nonlinearity and uncertainty
Structure of the Control Loop
  1. Reference Voltage (Vref): Desired output voltage.
  2. Output Voltage Feedback (Vo): Measured actual output.
