Key Components of a Half-Bridge Inverter:
  1. DC Supply (e.g., 100 V DC)
  2. Two Switching Devices (e.g., IGBT1 and IGBT2, or MOSFETs)
  3. Two Capacitors (C1 and C2) – voltage divider
  4. Load (typically resistive or RL)
  5. Gate Pulses – to alternate switches at desired frequency
🔄 Working Principle:
  • The DC input is split into +Vdc/2 and –Vdc/2 using the two capacitors.
  • Switches (IGBT1 and IGBT2) are operated alternately:
  • When IGBT1 is ON, output = +Vdc/2
  • When IGBT2 is ON, output = –Vdc/2
  • Output is a square wave AC voltage across the load.
