Color code a scatter plot

Color code a scatter plot in one, two, or three dimensions according to scalar function of the data.

The function buildcmap.m takes a vector as input, where entry i represent the value of a function (f) at the ith data point. Using output from buildcmap.m, showset.m plots one, two, or three dimensional data as a colored point cloud, where the color encodes the value of f. For example, the files can be used to visualize four dimensional data in three-space: position encodes three variables while the color encodes the fourth.
