Deep Learning Toolbox Model for VGG-19 Network

Pretrained VGG-19 network model for image classification

Updated 10 Mar 2021

VGG-19 is a pretrained Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) that has been trained on approximately 1.2 million images from the ImageNet Dataset ( by the Visual Geometry Group at University of Oxford (
The model has 19 layers and can classify images into 1000 object categories (e.g. keyboard, mouse, coffee mug, pencil).
Opening the vgg19.mlpkginstall file from your operating system or from within MATLAB will initiate the installation process for the release you have.

This mlpkginstall file is functional for R2017a and beyond.

Usage Example:
% Load the trained model
net = vgg19()

% See details of the architecture

% Read the image to classify
I = imread('peppers.png');

% Adjust size of the image
sz = net.Layers(1).InputSize
I = I(1:sz(1),1:sz(2),1:sz(3));

% Classify the image using VGG-19
label = classify(net, I);

% Show the image and the classification results
text(10, 20, char(label),'Color','white')

I cannot install this network, though it shows that all the processes have done.

I came in a trouble that I failed to download the VGG19 net, while the VGG16 is OK, anyone knows why?

helpful and free,thank you

I have a 32bits computer so i couldn't install the 2017 version of MATLAB so what can I do to be able to use any of the pretrained CNN ?
Would you please help me?
This is really urgent ,thank you

I was wondering if there is a way to install this package on the HPC (using command line)? Thanks a heap in advance!
