Simcenter Prescan is a physics-based simulation platform used in industries involving automation for the development of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and Autonomous Driving Systems (ADS) which are based on sensor technologies such as radar, lidar, camera, ultrasonic sensors and GPS. Simcenter Prescan is also used for testing vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) and vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) communication applications. Simcenter Prescan gives access to validated sensor models and material physical responses as part of a range of meaningful fidelity levels. Also, accurate vehicle dynamics models are included, and traffic can be populated easily. Simcenter Prescan facilitates the integration of the system-under-test in the simulation loop and can deploy it to a cluster or cloud on a large scale, providing the necessary coverage for verification.

Simcenter Prescan provides an editor to define scenarios and a run-time environment to execute them. The engineer's prime interface for making and testing algorithms includes MATLAB and Simulink. A COM-based interface allows Simcenter Prescan to communicate with MATLAB and Simulink during simulations.
