Communication interface

R2026b

Transport layer used to exchange data between the host computer and the target hardware

Since R2022b

Model Configuration Pane: Hardware Implementation / Hardware board settings / Target hardware resources / External mode

Description

Select the transport layer that external mode simulation uses to exchange data between the host computer and the target hardware.

Dependencies

For Infineon AURIX TC4x microcontrollers, enable this parameter by setting the Processing Unit parameter to TriCore0, TriCore1, TriCore2, TriCore3, TriCore4, or TriCore5.

Settings

Serial (default) | CAN | XCP on TCP/IP

  • For universal measurement and calibration protocol (XCP)-based external mode simulation using serial communication, set Communication interface to Serial and Connectivity interface to Serial (ASCLINx). The value of x depends on the Device Series parameter value.

  • For XCP-based external mode simulation over CAN, connect a CAN interface device to the hardware board, then set Communication interface to CAN and Connectivity interface to CAN (MCANx). The value of x depends on the Device Series parameter value.

  • For XCP-based external mode simulation over DAS, set Communication interface to XCP on TCP/IP and Connectivity interface to DAS.

Tips

Ensure that the Connectivity interface and Communication interface parameter values match the selected operation mode.
