Configure Software Component Models for Code Generation, Builds, and Deployment

R2026b

Simulink aligns software component model configurations for code generation with target platform requirements. When you create a new model in the Simulink® Software Component Designer, the default configuration provides optimal settings for the Embedded Linux platform. Likewise, for the AUTOSAR Component Designer, the default configuration provides optimal settings for the AUTOSAR Adaptive platform.

When you open an existing model in the Software Component Designer or the AUTOSAR Component Designer, and that model has not been opened in the app previously, Simulink validates whether the model is compatible with the app for simulation.

System Target File Parameter Settings

By default, the Software Component Designer sets the System target file parameter to ert.tlc. The AUTOSAR Component Designer, sets the parameter to autosar_adaptive.tlc. If you open an existing model in one of the designer component apps and the parameter is set to a different value, the app informs you that the parameter is being set to the default value and gives you the option to continue making the change or cancelling. If you switch the parameter setting to the required value and later change the setting back to a previous value, or if you change the model active configuration set to a previous one that specifies a different system target file, the model can become incompatible with the component designer app.

Platform Model Configuration Parameter Settings that You Are Unable to Change

This table lists model configuration parameters that the Software Component Designer and AUTOSAR Component Designer set explicitly and that cannot be changed. The component designer apps set these parameter values consistently across the software component models within an architecture model.
