displaying map of longtitude and latitude data, using geoshow

I have a data [lat lon z]
the size of each data(lat, lon, z) is 100 by 1
if I use geoshow(lat, lon, z,'DisplayType', 'texturemap'), nothing appears in the figure.
what should I do to display the map?
