unable to solve symbolically. returning a numeric solution using vpasolve

Im trying to get the real and the imaginary part of this function.

solve(exp(z)+sin(z)==0)

Hi,

To get the real and imaginary part, you can use real, imag functions.

g(z)=(exp(z)+sin(z) == 0)
real(g(z)) %returns the real part
imag(g(z)) %returns the imag part

In order to simplify it further, in terms of any other function you can use rewrite function

simplify(rewrite(imag(g(z)), 'exp'))
