how to find red image Pattern Using Matlab

hello, i am a new matlab user. i am working on Traffic sign recognition system. in that i have to detect trafic sign by using matlab coding.

My question is how we decide threshold values of Hue, saturation and value of any images and how we detect red pattern in that image using these threshold values?

However since it's a stop sign, you'd be better off using a more sophisticated road sign algorithm like one of those listed here:
