How to define a colormap easily

I tried to define a colormap, however it is rather difficult, because I have to choose a value and then I see what the color it is. Does there exist a method that I can choose what color I want and transfer it into the value?

Use Colormap Editor by typing 'colormapeditor' in the Command Window.

You may also define your own colormap easilty.
