create plot task not available in live script despite having other control toolbox options

I'm trying to build the interactive documents that use the "create plot" function under the "task" button in an mlx script. But for some reason it is not available. Matlab says its in the control toolbox, which app explorer says I have installed and other functions are recognized.

Do you mean this task? That is part of MATLAB. There is a documentation page for this task in the Control System Toolbox documentation but that page states "This page describes a subset of the functionality available in the Create Plot live task — the subset available when you select Control System Plots in the Category menu." So you can use this task with MATLAB alone, but in order to use the Control System Plots you need Control System Toolbox.

According to the first documentation page to which I linked, this task was "Introduced in R2021a". Are you perhaps using an earlier release? If so you will need to update to release R2021a or later to use this task.
