hello, I want to know that how do we give input data to nft using gui, what the input file is comprised of and how to make it. For example what should be input and output file if I want to make a network that takes an alphabet as input and recognize it if it is A or similar to A. Thanks in advance.

I believe the references to nft should be references to nftool .

I don't know if nftool can do handwriting recognition using images, but this may help: http://www.mathworks.com/products/neural-network/demos.html?

I wanted to present an example of recognition of hand-written letters with adaptation to the individual person, but File Exchange produces an error. That - there has gone not so. :)
In general. 1. The input set for Train represents font set from the smallest to the big. 2. Output - some matrix of correspondence.
Training activity in steps. 1. Training without noises. 2. Training with noises (rotation, scaling, adding noise).
I use version 7.2(Neural Network, Image Processing Toolbox). In the new version probably something has changed.

Input:
Use any black-and-white or grayscale image format. .PBM files are particularly appropriate.
If you use JPEG files, be sure to run them through rgb2gray before using the data, as JPEG files tend to become RGB images at inconvenient times.
Output: Sorry, I do not know. nftool should give you several options.
