Resizing to align 2 axes in MATLAB GUI

I have 2 images of size 512x512(IMG1) and 512x46(IMG2) respectively which are placed vertically on top of each other in a figure. When I crop IMG1, I want the IMG2 to resize and align vertically with IMG1. I have tried daspect, pbaspect and linkaxes option in MATLAB but cant seem to get the exact results I want. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. Any help in this regard is greatly appreciated. NOTE: I have attached before and after images. The after image shows imperfect alignment of top and bottom image..
