Mathworks Licensing Error 5005

I am using university account and it already activated licenses. However, I cannot run the script because it said "Mathworks Licensing Error 5005". I already tried reinstalling MATLAB, but this message always popped up. Please help me because it is urgent matter.

If you want to try by yourself first, do what the following AI advice suggests. Else contact MathWorks Support immediately:
From AI:
MATLAB licensing error 5005 typically indicates a "License Checkout Failed" issue, often caused by a corrupted license file, an expired license, or failure to properly activate the software. [1, 2, 3, 4]
Here are the most effective solutions to fix this issue:
1. Reactivate MATLAB
Reactivating is the most common fix to refresh corrupted or outdated license information.
  • Navigate to the bin folder within your MATLAB installation directory (e.g., C:\Program Files\MATLAB\R2023a\bin\win64).
  • Right-click activate_matlab.exe and select Run as Administrator.
  • Select "Activate automatically using the Internet" and follow the prompts. [1, 2, 3]
2. Delete Cached License Files [1]
If the cached license file is corrupted, MATLAB will continue to throw errors even after reactivation.
  • Close MATLAB.
  • Windows: Press Windows Key + R, type %APPDATA%\MathWorks\licensing\licenses, and press Enter.
  • Delete the license files in this folder.
  • Restart MATLAB and activate if prompted. [1, 2, 3, 4]
3. Verify License Validity (for Users/Admins) [1]
  • Individual Licenses: Ensure your license has not expired via your MathWorks Account.
  • Network Licenses: If you are using a shared license, the network license manager might be down or the license file on the server may need an update. Contact your license administrator. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
4. Reinstall MathWorks Service Host [1]
If the issue is related to the service that handles licensing, reinstalling the service host can fix it. [1]
If these solutions do not resolve the error, it is recommended to Contact MathWorks Support for further assistance.

Thank you for your assistance. The second method works. I have another question, which is why MATLAB R2026a is slower than R2025b? I already deleted R2025b due to bug issues. When I reinstall MATLAB R2026a, I found out that it is slower to run the script? Is there any way to fasten the running process?

This question is too vague to be answered. How much slower ? What functions do you use in your script ? Try another MATLAB code and/or MATLAB Online for comparison. If you think R2026a is systematically slower on your PC than R2025b , you could contact MATLAB support.
