What did you do to your PC that MATLAB interprets it as a new machine ?
Answer from AI:
The MATLAB error "no more machine transfer available" (often appearing as Error 354) means you have exceeded the allowable limit for transferring your Individual license between different computers. MathWorks restricts how often you can move an active license in a given period to prevent unauthorized sharing. [1, 2, 3, 4]
You will likely encounter this if you:
- Frequently install and activate MATLAB on new laptops or desktop computers.
- Replace hardware components, such as a motherboard or hard drive, which causes MATLAB to interpret your device as a completely new machine. [1, 2, 3]
How to Resolve the Issue
While you wait for your transfer limit to reset, you can still access your software using these options: [1]
- Contact Support: The quickest and most common way to fix this is to reach out to MathWorks Installation and Licensing Support. If your device was repaired or you are making a legitimate transition, they can often waive the restriction or reset your transfer count. [1, 2, 3]
- Use MATLAB Online: If your computer has an active internet connection, you can bypass the local installation activation limit by running the browser-based MATLAB Online. [1]
- Use Login Named User: If the software is already installed but refusing to activate, individual licenses often allow you to run the program by logging into your account directly rather than using a standard offline activation. [1]
