Hi, I'm trying to figure out if I have Embedded Coder installed. Is there a command I can run? I have also heard that the student version does not have embedded coder at all that I have to get a different version. Is this the case?

You can however use the Simulink Support Software for Arduino, Raspberry Pi , Lego, iPhone & iPad as well as some Android mobile devices plus others, to program these devices with the Student Version. You do not need embedded coder licences for these. For more information please visit the hardware support pages

Only the Academic and Professional / Commercial version can have Embedded Coder. The Student Version and the Home Version cannot have Embedded Coder.

It has been added in 2016a. I hope we will have them in Home Edition 2016b :D I have no more toolboxes to buy :P

No, R2016a Student does not have Embedded Coder. As Bill Chou noted above, R2016a Student added MATLAB Coder and Simulink Coder, but not Embedded Coder.

As I indicated in https://www.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/answers/330493-how-i-can-download-embedded-coder-for-matlab#comment_438161, Embedded Coder is not available for any Student or Home license. However for Academic or Standard (Commercial) license you can request a trial of Embedded Coder.

But what is the reason of not having available embedded coder for student of home license? It would be nice to have it. Is there a way to purchase it?
