readtable - command - which version of Matlab

I have Matlab 2012 , but it doesnt support the 'readtable' command , my friend is using version 2013 but no documentation is available on this command in V2013 also , can you let me know from which version onwards the 'readtable' command is supported in matlab and if it is available in the above mentioned version , what i am missing to access this command

tables and the readtable function were introduced in R2013b.

Similar functionality was also available prior to R2013b, using the dataset data type in the (then called) Statistics Toolbox).
