local and global features of a binary image.

I am currently working on binary image ( which i have received after bit plane decomposition). I am not able to get what are the local and global features of a binary image. second can threshold be applied on a binary image.

If your question is one of what "local binary patterns" are and what they mean, then that is a theory question that is not really suitable for here.

i want to know features like standard deviation or mean etc. can be applied on a binary image. if yes then how?? Now it might be more clear.
