I solved it too. If anyone needs any advice on setting up one of these systems, email me Quentindavidhay@gmail.com. Did this as part of my undergraduate thesis with no help but the internet. lucky I didnt go bald. Some of my issues that you may want to research further:
"The delays I have had to date are, wrong simulink version, wrong dspace version, corrupted uninstall of 2019 software, no password access to computer, no access to dspace customer account, firmware outdated, firmware updated to 2019 instead of 2017, another firmware update to correct, matlab not initialised, 1007 processor not registered, missing dongle, cards not communicating, hardware missing PHS bus connector and no step by step install manual."
AND
The cards ds2102 2103 and 2004 haven’t been communicating because they are not connected by a PHS bus. Whilst it indicates these need connected in help manuals there is also a chassis which houses the cards and this looks like it behaves as a PHS interlink when in fact it doesn't. You need a PHS connector bacble between the cards. also theyre like $800.
If you are having trouble connecting research these problems.
The simulink and dspace versions must be correct and correct license, the firmware for dspace must be updated, don't mess up and install the wrong version as it can be a headache to remove. Ensure connections between cards are PHS and power connected, register the cards - this can only be done once the above steps are done. Once this is done you have to link matlab in the control desk program.
After this point MATLAB models must be created using a simulink RT template. Once built you press ctrl B and it should compile a real time model. If there is errors good luck as they are non descriptive. You have to do your best to work out why it may be going wrong. Once it is built correctly you have to open a project in Control desk and import the relevant RT file then you connect the desired simulink controls and displays to control desk controls and displays (virtually build it again in control desk. after this go online and all goes well... away you go.
Gramma is terrible but read between the lines.
Regards,
Quent
