self organizing map interpretation

Hello all,

Can someone explain to me what is the interpretation of the SOM? I am new to the machine learning and am confused. I assume that the colors are different clusters, correct me if Im wrong please. What are those numbers written inside of each hexagonal? Or if you introduce me a good video that explains it! I couldn't find any!

 The numbers are the number of data points inside the hexagonal cluster.
