"Error: No classpath definition jar found. "

Trying to install Matlab 2016a version in my mac running Sierra. But I got the error message . "Error: No classpath definition jar found. " Can someone help me out ?

Same for Matlab 2017b :-(
I figured it out by uninstalling Matlab. I think the version I installed was not the complete installer. I have to uninstall it. And installed it directly from the mathworks.com

This problem happens when your java folder is incomplete. What you should do is to make sure: 1-Matlab source has been completely downloaded, 2-All files have been completely extracted, (you can use sudo to make sure all files are extracted and some of them are not discarded because of the lack of permission, i.e. sudo tar zxvf matlabSource.tgz)
