Undefined function 'imageDatastore' and 'alexnet'

I saw a video tutorial (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NQjoaptSEoo) for deep learning. My MSc dissertation is based on a comparison of machine and deep learning face recognition algorithms. I have the r2015a version and my machine learning algorithms were working perfectly until i figured out that i need a newer version in order to run this deep learning example.

My question is this:

1) If i download the r2017a trial, will i be able to run this example and go further with my DL coding? Or i will miss a few important packages such Computer Vision System Toolbox and image processing?

2) If i have to buy the r2017a version because the trial is not sufficient, which add-ons i will need to purchase on top of the matlab program? (i know that i definately need Computer Vision System Toolbox, but what else for my face recognition problem?)

Please let me know asap. I don't want to uninstall my version to try the trial and not be sufficient as i don't have much time left. Thank you to everyone that might try to reply to me. :)

Hi Dimitrios,

I believe imageDatastore and alexnet are available in R2017a version. I think you would need Neural Network Toolbox and Computer Vision System Toolbox for this to work.
