A problem with exponant

Hello everybody, I have a really simple question, I tried to put this with Matlab : 1e-2.3 And Matlab told me "Error: Unexpected MATLAB expression". So how can I do to solve this problem ?

Replace
e-2.3
with
10^(2.3)
