license manager error -9

I use my university license, and I wonder if I cannot use the license in two computer. I successfully used the license in one computer (at university) and failed in my home computer. they say the reason is License checkout failed, license manager error -9. Cannot I use the same license in two computers? and If I can, why does this happen?
