HOW TO SAVE MAT 2 ASCII FILE?

Anyone pls help. How to save matlab to ascii file?

this is what I do so far

ncol = 66;

fmt = repmat('%f', 1, ncol);

filename = 'j3p0001c070.asc';

fid = fopen(filename, 'rt');

data = cell2mat( textscan(fid, fmt, 'HeaderLines', 74, 'CollectOutput',10, 'TreatAsEmpty', '*') );

fclose(fid);

data(isnan(data)) = -99.9999;

From save() function documentation ;

p = rand(1,10);
q = ones(10);
save('pqfile.txt','p','q','-ascii')

but, as you can see in my script, i want to save ascii file to ascii file.. yeah just because I have to change Nan to several number.

so, my question is how to save ascii file to ascii file? Thanks for your help
