MATLAB code that execute exp function without using the exp inbuilt function

Hello, I'm new to MATLAB and I have to run an exponential function but without using the exp inbuilt function. As I need to use the HDL coder in the later part, the exp inbuilt function is not allowed. Does anyone knows the code?

This is the equation that has the exp function which I want to replace.

Sum=Sum+sequence(jj)*exp(-2*pi*j*(jj-1)*(k-1)/nfft)
