How to create an array with 2^n using this method?

In my homework, I'm asked to create an array of 8,16,32,...,2048 using the way :
N=[8 16 32 ??? 2048]
what could be the ??? here? Any operator? Not familiar with matlab...

I believe it is just describing the sequence.
N=2.^(3:11);
