Read dbf file (without the Database Toolbox)

Hi,
is it possible to read a .dbf in MATLAB without having access to the Database Toolbox.
Other suggestions for reading a dbf database are also very welcome - my database contains +15 million rows, so it is too big for e.g. Excel and other spreadsheet programs.
