Is there a way to change the appearance of an Edit Field control in a Live Script?

I'm using an Edit Field control in a Live Script. The string has more characters than visibly fit in the 'small' text window. I'd like to be able to stretch the field manually or have it snap to fit the input text. Is it possible to change the appearance of Live Script controls?

I would really like this functionality as well. I'd like to be able to input directory paths and the current size of the edit field is much too small.
