weird behavior of matlab serial communication protocol

If is send it 1F 2F 3F FF \n in endless loop (I defined LF to be the terminator) then it sends shows me the a huge block of data after 10 SEC timeout.
but if i send it \n 1F 2F 3F FF \n in endless loop ,then MATLAB shows me the string right away BUT it shows me the data as1F 2F 3F FF \n \n
Can i please have an explanantion why its happening?
