add editor to te command window in matlab

hi,
then I run a script, the editor opens in a separate file, but I would prefer to see the editor with the script above the command window, how can I do that?

salam , i had this problem in 2014. in first click on the little pointer in the upper right of the editor , then Click the little downward pointing triangle in a circle in the upper right of the window and select "Undoc" , then ctll+n and enjoy :)
Hi,
In the menu bar for MATLAB, click on 'layout'. You get different options. It sounds like the 'default' option here is what you need. Hope this helps.

God Job! Thank you dude
Click on the upper right inverted triangle and choose "dock all in editor " it'll work for sure ; )
Neither solution works on my Macbook Pro running os 12.6.7 with Matlab R2021a update 4
I used to have no trouble with command window docked in editor window. Now this seems unachievable. I'm not aware of any relevant changes in the meantime.
For 2023 matlab, can refer to this link. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uTmtL413MtA
or
  1. open your editor.
  2. look at the right corner above toolstrip
  3. click on the mini arrow, the last one next to upside down triangle

Look towards the upper right of the editor window for a downward pointing triangle. Click on that and choose Undock Editor.
(This assumes you are running R2012b or later)
