Fitting a parametric function to a dataset

I have (x,y) coordinates of some data points. I wish to fit a cycloid with the following parametric equation:

x=r(t-sin t);

y=r(1-cost)

How should I proceed in MATLAB?

This is just a repository of various parametric curves. How do I determine the parameters in fitting a cycloid to the data that I have?
