xPC Threading Library

It appears that xPC can do some sort of a background task based on the blocks in the library. Is there an xPC threading library that you can link against in your code with say an s-function. We have running code on VxWorks with a comm library that uses pthread but we can't find something similar for use on xPC?
Any suggestions on threading in xPC?
